Simple Present and Present Continuous

The Simple Present form is used to express the idea that an action is repeated or usual. The action can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a scheduled event or something that often happens. It can also be something a person often forgets or usually does not do.
Examples: You study now. Do you study now? You don't study now.

The Present Continuous form is used with am/is/are + present participle to express the idea that something is happening now, at this very moment. It can also be used to show that something is not happening now. Examples: You are studying now. Are you studying now? You aren't studying now. (http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/verbtenseintro.html)
